Retaining Inner Depth

Written by Mathew Naismith

Retaining inner depth and balance

My own proverb: Life is the wind, bend to it otherwise one will become broken.

How often is #spirituality/religion used in #opposition to something else, especially at present? This is when spirituality/religion used in harmony with everything can create harmony, peace and love. It is saddening why this isn't occurring. How many more critically judged negatives are there today therefore opposition? We are today expressing the same old consciousness more than ever, the same old game of in opposition and separation, rather than #harmony and #union. The way new age spirituality is being used and abused to serve our personal desires is bewildering and disheartening, this is probably why I tend to lean towards Taoism and Hinduism at times.

That said.

In my last post I inserted a link, shown below, pertaining to what I just wrote about, stimuli addiction, which by many sources is on a significant rise. These alarming findings are seemingly being ignored but why?

Why people of addictions are not listing to this is to do with the #addictions themselves, in my mind. Addicts simply won't listen to anything threatening their addiction in any way. In all honesty, if they feel their addiction is really being threatened, they will lash out or avoid at all cost their addiction being threatened in any sense. Considering there is more critically judged negatives therefore opposition and separation today, there are more addictions!! Is there a link between the perceptions of more negatives therefore opposition and the rise of addictions?

The inserted link also makes reference to God. Try to look at it this way if the perception of #God, especially in relation to religion for a lot of people today, isn't to your liking. God for me simply means a perception of a much wiser and aware consciousness, if you like a higher consciousness.

Extract: "The cost of keeping pace in a caffeinated culture.

We give up depth in our relationships. #Depth in our emotions, depth in our thoughts. We think we have wisdom when we merely have information. We think that living under the same roof is the same as being a family."

Caffeinated culture refers to a culture that needs external assistance in dealing with present circumstances. Considering the state of human consciousness and the world at present, it is no wonder why so many people, especially sensitive people, desire to give themselves a psychological boost of confidence and security from external sources. Now, imagine for one moment seemingly threatening this external source of confidence and security!! Even if you are not a threat and all you are doing is trying to help, addicts will still see this as a threat and act on this in opposition and separation, not in #love and #union.

Another one of my proverbs: If one is not in fear of losing one's addiction, why act as if one is in fear of such an occurrence if one's addiction isn't an addiction!!

It would seem today's wisdom is of anything else but inner depth and self-honesty. Today's wisdom is of more opposition and separation, not less. As how we often use and abuse religion/spirituality to serve our own desires, wisdom has a different meaning today as well, a reflection that means anything but a true sense of wisdom. There is no wisdom in opposition and division to simply serve our own personal desires, there is certainly no inner depth in this.

People can live around a volcano all there lives; living off of what past volcanic eruptions has provided them. One's whole life isn't negative when the volcano once again erupts, transforming everything that the volcano created in the first place. Try looking at the whole world like this and you will see a different world, not in opposition but in union even in transformation. This is all about retaining inner depth in any transformational period........

I thought I would insert a recent photo of my wife and I, showing what we wore going out on my birthday. I am wearing a thobe (thawb), a Middle Eastern garment, as my wife is wearing a hippy style garment. Of course the neighbours dog hat to be in the photo as well.

Dressed for Dinner in a thobe (thawb) and a hippy like outfit.
